Fleet Maintenance Diesel Techician

As a Fleet Maintenance Diesel Technician at Marathon Petroleum, you'll inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and equipment supporting critical energy logistics. Responsibilities include performing scheduled and corrective maintenance on engines, fuel, brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems; conducting DOT and safety inspections; and using diagnostic tools to minimize downtime. You'll uphold strict safety and environmental standards while collaborating with operations to keep fleet assets reliable, compliant, and ready to support Marathon's nationwide refining and distribution network.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, and related components for fleet vehicles
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, brake, fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Conduct DOT, safety, and compliance inspections, documenting all work performed
• Use diagnostic software, scan tools, and technical manuals to identify and resolve faults
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS or fleet management systems
• Follow strict safety, environmental, and spill-prevention procedures in all work activities
• Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to prioritize repairs and equipment availability
