Staff Nurse PACU

Methodist Health System is seeking a Staff Nurse for our PACU in Dallas. In this role, you will deliver compassionate, evidence-based post-anesthesia care for diverse surgical patients, closely monitoring airway, hemodynamics, pain, and recovery status. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams, using advanced technology and EHR systems to document and coordinate care. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring for surgical patients in the PACU.
• Manage airways, hemodynamic status, pain, and nausea to ensure safe, timely recovery.
• Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders and anesthesia protocols.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHR.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on post-op expectations, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions.
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Precept and support new nurses and contribute to a culture of continual learning.
• Participate in unit quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
