Pet Care Center in Metairie, LA is seeking a Veterinarian to join our compassionate, full-service veterinary team. In this role, you will provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care for companion animals while delivering exceptional client service. Responsibilities include wellness and sick exams, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and occasional emergency care. You'll collaborate closely with skilled technicians in a supportive, team-oriented environment that values continuous learning, client education, and low-stress handling to ensure the best outcomes for pets and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive wellness exams, sick visits, and develop treatment plans for companion animals.
  • Conduct soft-tissue surgeries, anesthesia, and post-operative care following best practices.
  • Provide dental cleanings, radiographs, and extractions to maintain oral health.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests including bloodwork, imaging, and lab results to guide care.
  • Educate and counsel clients on preventive care, nutrition, and long-term health management.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient, compassionate care.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and complete required documentation and certificates.
  • Participate in emergency and urgent care rotation as needed.
  • Uphold hospital protocols, safety standards, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Contribute to a positive, learning-focused team culture through mentorship and case discussions.
