Speech Pathologist

Encompass Health seeks a compassionate Speech Pathologist to deliver specialized speech-language and swallowing services in our inpatient rehabilitation setting. In this role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and dysphagia disorders, developing evidence-based, individualized care plans. Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders in adult rehab patients
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Provide direct therapy to improve communication, cognition, and safe swallowing
• Conduct dysphagia assessments, including bedside evaluations and instrumental studies where applicable
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab therapists on coordinated patient care
• Educate patients and families on communication strategies and swallowing safety
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and outcome tracking
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences
• Contribute to discharge planning and home program recommendations
• Adhere to regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and facility policies
