HOME OF HOPE seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide compassionate, faith-based care to homeless children and their young mothers in a residential setting. This role supports daily living activities, life skills development, and structured routines while ensuring safety and emotional well-being. The DSP will model positive behavior, assist with education and therapy schedules, document resident progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates are patient, dependable, and mission-driven, with a heart for serving vulnerable families and helping them achieve lasting stability and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and supervision to children and young mothers in residential care
  • Assist residents with daily living skills, routines, and positive behavior support
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and structured environment aligned with faith-based values
  • Document observations, incidents, and progress notes accurately and timely
  • Collaborate with counselors, case managers, and educators on individualized care plans
  • Support life skills, education, and therapeutic activities as scheduled
  • Model respectful communication, empathy, and healthy boundaries
  • Respond calmly to crises and follow all safety and reporting protocols
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and uphold organizational policies and procedures
