CoolSys, a leading provider of sustainable HVACR solutions, is seeking a skilled Journeyman Refrigeration technician to join our Skilled Labor team in the HVAC Wholesale industry. In this role, you'll install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation. You'll diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support energy-efficient solutions for our clients. Responsibilities
- Install, start up, and commission commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVACR systems at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control issues on rack systems, walk-in coolers/freezers, and related equipment.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including inspections, testing, cleaning, and adjustments to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.
- Handle, recover, evacuate, and charge refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations and company standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, piping diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute work.
- Perform brazing, piping, and fitting of refrigeration lines, ensuring proper assembly, leak-free connections, and code compliance.
- Document all work performed, including service reports, parts used, time, and system conditions, using company systems and tools.
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair options clearly to customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring strong customer satisfaction.
- Support the HVAC wholesale operation by identifying appropriate parts, components, and equipment needed for service and installation work.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, overtime, and occasional weekend or evening work to meet customer needs and respond to emergencies.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures, PPE requirements, and regulatory standards while working on job sites and with refrigerants and electrical systems.
- Provide guidance and informal mentorship to junior or apprentice technicians, promoting quality workmanship and continuous learning.
