Truss Assembler

Drexel Building Supply is seeking a detail-oriented Truss Assembler to join our Manufacturing & Production team. In this role, you will read and interpret shop drawings, measure and cut lumber, and assemble roof and floor trusses using power tools and production equipment. You'll inspect finished products for quality, follow safety standards, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Responsibilities

• Assemble roof and floor trusses according to production drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and measurement details to ensure accurate assembly.
• Gather, sort, and position lumber, plates, and hardware for each job run.
• Operate pneumatic nail guns, presses, saws, and other manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Measure, cut, and align components to maintain quality, structural integrity, and dimensional accuracy.
• Inspect finished trusses for defects, correct assembly, and compliance with quality standards.
• Meet or exceed daily and weekly production goals while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with production leads, machine operators, and forklift drivers to coordinate workflow.
• Assist with staging, banding, and loading completed trusses for storage or delivery.
• Report equipment issues, material shortages, or safety concerns promptly to supervision.
• Participate in ongoing training to improve technical skills, equipment operation, and safety awareness.

Required Skills

• Reading and interpreting construction or shop drawings
• Basic measurement and math skills (including tape measure use and fractions)
• Pneumatic nail gun operation
• Power saw and truss press operation
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Quality inspection and defect identification
• Understanding of basic structural concepts for trusses (load paths, joints)
• Knowledge of shop safety procedures and PPE use
• Material handling and lumber identification
• Team-based production workflow
• Time management in a high-volume production environment
