Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
• Construct building frameworks including walls, floors, and doorframes
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
• Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers
• Follow safety guidelines and regulations
• Collaborate with contractors and project managers to deliver quality construction

Required Skills

• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Keen attention to detail and mathematical skills
• Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
