Livestock Technician

Select Sires seeks a Livestock Technician to support our advanced bovine genetics and reproduction programs. In this role, you will provide daily care for cattle, monitor animal health, and assist with semen collection and handling following strict biosecurity and animal welfare standards. You will operate and sanitize specialized equipment, maintain accurate health and production records, and help implement innovative reproductive technologies. Working closely with veterinarians and genetics specialists, you will contribute directly to improving herd productivity for dairy and beef producers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily livestock care, feeding, and monitoring of animal health and behavior
• Assist with bovine reproductive procedures, including semen collection and handling
• Operate and sanitize specialized reproductive and livestock equipment
• Record accurate data on animal performance, health, and reproductive outcomes
• Maintain clean, safe, and biosecure barns, labs, and handling facilities
• Follow strict animal welfare, safety, and biosecurity protocols
• Collaborate with veterinarians, geneticists, and technicians on herd improvement programs
• Support implementation of new reproductive technologies and protocols
