Marriott is seeking a Senior Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting to support financial leadership at our lodging property. In this role, you will manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. You will assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis while ensuring compliance with Marriott standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Partnering closely with operations and F&B leaders, you will analyze performance, drive profitability, mentor accounting staff, and support audits in a dynamic, people-first hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for the hotel and related operations
- Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger processes in alignment with Marriott policies and GAAPPrepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and management reports to support strategic decision-making
- Monitor hotel cash flow, cost controls, and revenue performance, recommending actions to improve profitability
- Support internal and external audits, maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards
- Partner with operations, rooms, and F&B leaders to analyze departmental performance and optimize financial results
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training, feedback, and development opportunities
- Implement process improvements and financial systems enhancements to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure accurate tax, licensing, and statutory filings in coordination with corporate finance and external partners
- Present financial insights and recommendations to the Director of Finance and hotel leadership team
