Before and After School Counselor

KinderCare is seeking a Before and After School Counselor to support Thacker Avenue Elementary students in a safe, engaging environment. You will supervise children during before- and after-school hours, lead age-appropriate activities, support homework time, and foster positive social and emotional development. Partner with families and school staff to ensure consistent communication and student well-being. Ideal candidates are dependable, caring, and organized, with experience working with children in educational or childcare settings and a strong commitment to safety, inclusion, and child development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during before- and after-school program hours
• Plan and lead age-appropriate educational and recreational activities
• Support homework time and encourage positive study habits
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
• Promote positive behavior and social-emotional development
• Communicate regularly with families about child progress and needs
• Collaborate with school staff to support student success
• Follow all safety, licensing, and organizational policies
• Maintain accurate attendance and incident records
• Assist with program setup, cleanup, and materials management
