HNI Corporation seeks a Skilled Trades Specialist to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing of workplace furnishings and hearth products. In this on-site role, you'll set up, operate, and maintain production equipment, reading blueprints and work orders to deliver high-quality components and assemblies. You'll perform inspections, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance while following strict safety and quality standards. Working closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams, you'll help drive continuous improvement, support 5S/lean initiatives, and mentor others as we innovate and deliver exceptional products worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, and maintain manufacturing equipment to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to complete fabrication or assembly tasks
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery and tools
  • Inspect finished products for quality, making adjustments and repairs as needed
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and OSHA guidelines in a manufacturing environment
  • Document work performed, materials used, and maintenance activities accurately
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, 5
  • S, and lean manufacturing practices
  • Train and mentor less-experienced team members on equipment, safety, and best practices
  • Contribute to a culture of integrity, inclusion, and operational excellence at HNI Corporation
