Ground Support Equipment Mechanic

Hawaiian Airlines is seeking a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair automotive and ground support fleets that keep our aircraft operations running safely and on time. In this Automotive department role, you will inspect, troubleshoot, and service tugs, baggage carts, belt loaders, and related equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards. Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of ground support equipment used to service aircraft, including tugs, belt loaders, baggage carts, de-icing units, air conditioning units, and ground power units.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, safety checks, and functional tests to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues using diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical documentation, and perform timely corrective repairs.
• Respond to urgent maintenance requests on the ramp to minimize aircraft turnaround delays and safely return equipment to service.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, parts usage, and inspection logs in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate closely with ramp, maintenance, and operations teams to prioritize work, coordinate equipment availability, and support on-time departures.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and proper use of PPE, and actively participate in a safety-first culture on the ramp and in the shop.
• Assist in training or mentoring less experienced technicians on equipment operation, maintenance standards, and safe work practices.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, recommending process or design improvements, and helping to implement corrective actions.
