Surgical Technologist

Intermountain Health seeks a detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to support safe, high-quality care in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will prepare operating rooms, organize instruments and supplies, and maintain a sterile field to assist surgeons and the care team during a variety of surgical procedures. You will anticipate needs intraoperatively, help ensure accurate counts, and support infection prevention standards. Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and supplies according to procedure and surgeon preference.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and support infection prevention standards throughout procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon and team needs; pass instruments and supplies efficiently and safely.
• Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments; report and reconcile discrepancies.
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
• Assist with patient positioning, prepping, draping, and application of dressings as directed.
• Operate and care for OR equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safe use.
• Support room turnover, restocking, and readiness for subsequent procedures.
• Document required information accurately in EHR systems and surgical checklists.
• Participate in ongoing education, quality improvement, and team huddles to advance best practices.
