Diesel Mechanic

Interstate Waste Services is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of waste and recycling trucks. In this essential role, you will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, conduct DOT inspections, and complete repairs on engines, hydraulics, brakes, and suspensions. Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and drive-train components on waste and recycling trucks.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks per company and DOT standards.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, brake, and suspension systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve electrical and electronic issues.
• Complete accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage in a timely manner.
• Ensure shop and work areas meet all safety and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with drivers and operations staff to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
• Assist with road calls and on-site repairs as needed to keep the fleet operating reliably.
