Technical Buyer

KEB America Inc. is seeking a Technical Buyer to support our manufacturing operations in Shakopee, MN. In this role, you will source and procure electro-mechanical and industrial automation components, interpret technical drawings and BOMs, and work closely with engineering, production, and suppliers. Responsibilities include RFQs, price and term negotiations, supplier qualification, lead-time and inventory management, and resolving quality or delivery issues. You will analyze usage data, support cost-reduction projects, and help maintain accurate ERP purchasing data while contributing to a collaborative, growth-focused engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase electro-mechanical and automation components for manufacturing
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs to define purchasing needs
• Request and analyze supplier quotes, pricing, and lead times
• Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers
• Qualify and manage suppliers to ensure quality and on-time delivery
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning
• Resolve supplier quality, delivery, and invoice issues
• Maintain accurate purchasing data and part records in the ERP system
• Support cost-reduction, value engineering, and supplier consolidation initiatives
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and finance on new product and redesign projects
