Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) exams according to physician orders and established protocols
- Acquire and analyze cardiac images, measurements, and Doppler data; prepare preliminary findings for cardiologists
- Ensure proper patient identification, education, comfort, and safety throughout procedures
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain ultrasound and related imaging equipment
- Accurately document procedures and findings in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams to support patient care plans
- Follow infection control, quality assurance, and safety standards in all exam areas
- Assist with stress echocardiography and contrast studies as directed
- Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and performance improvement initiatives
- Support scheduling, workflow efficiency, and departmental policies within the echo lab
