Truck Driver Class B

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class B vehicles to transport construction materials and equipment to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance as required.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions and ensure that loading/unloading is done safely and efficiently.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions and maintain accurate travel and cargo records.
• Report defects, accidents, or violations and ensure the safety of the cargo during transit.

Required Skills

• Proven work experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
• Ability to physically load and unload cargo when necessary.
