AVP/Senior Credit Officer

TrustBank is seeking an AVP/Senior Credit Officer to lead commercial and consumer credit decisions for a relationship-focused community bank. Based in Olney, IL, you will analyze complex credit requests, structure loans, and ensure sound underwriting within policy and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities include portfolio risk management, approving and recommending credit actions, monitoring loan quality, and supporting exam and audit processes. You will partner closely with lenders and leadership, mentor junior staff, and help shape credit standards that support prudent growth and long-term community relationships.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and approve complex commercial and consumer credit requests
• Ensure underwriting quality complies with bank policy and regulations
• Monitor loan portfolio performance and identify emerging risks
• Recommend credit structures, terms, and pricing to support prudent growth
• Participate in loan committee and prepare supporting credit memoranda
• Support regulatory exams and internal/external audits
• Collaborate with relationship managers on new and existing credit relationships
• Maintain current knowledge of credit, regulatory, and industry trends
• Mentor and support junior credit and lending staff
• Contribute to ongoing enhancement of credit policies and procedures
