Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a skilled CVOR Surgical Technologist to support complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries. In this role, you'll prepare the CVOR, ensure strict sterile technique, and manage specialized instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures. You'll work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to anticipate needs, maintain safety, and support excellent outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the cardiovascular operating room, equipment, and supplies for scheduled and emergency cases
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and aseptic practice throughout all procedures
  • Anticipate surgeon and team needs, passing instruments and supplies efficiently during surgery
  • Manage and verify counts of sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure patient safety
  • Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping under direction of the surgical team
  • Operate and care for specialized CVOR instruments and equipment according to protocols
  • Support infection prevention by adhering to all hospital and regulatory standards
  • Document required intraoperative information in alignment with OR workflows
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing to promote safe, efficient case flow
  • Participate in continuing education and skills development to advance CVOR expertise
