CVOR Surgical Technologist

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist to support complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. In this role, you will prepare and maintain sterile fields, select and arrange CVOR-specific instruments, and anticipate surgeon needs throughout each case. You'll verify supplies and implants, perform accurate counts, and follow strict infection-prevention standards. Working closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing, you'll help ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care. Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields for cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
• Select, organize, and manage CVOR-specific instruments and supplies
• Anticipate surgeon and anesthesia needs throughout procedures
• Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and sharps counts
• Adhere to strict infection prevention and patient safety protocols
• Operate and troubleshoot OR equipment relevant to CVOR cases
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing to ensure workflow efficiency
• Verify implants, supplies, and documentation for each case
• Assist with room turnover and equipment reprocessing coordination
• Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives
