Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a skilled CVOR Surgical Technologist to support complex cardiovascular procedures in a high-acuity operating room. In this role, you'll prepare the CVOR, arrange and manage specialized instruments, maintain strict sterile technique, and anticipate surgeon and team needs throughout procedures. You'll collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow. Responsibilities

  • Prepare CVOR suites, ensuring required instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and functioning.
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and aseptic practices throughout all cardiovascular procedures.
  • Anticipate surgeon and team needs, passing instruments and supplies efficiently and accurately.
  • Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and sharps counts according to policy to ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to support safe, efficient case flow.
  • Assist with positioning, prepping, and draping patients in accordance with CVOR protocols.
  • Operate and troubleshoot basic OR equipment relevant to cardiovascular procedures.
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards in the OR environment.
  • Document required intraoperative information in OR systems per hospital policy.
  • Participate in ongoing education, competency validation, and process improvement initiatives.
