Director of Procurement

Airoom Companies, LLC, a leading Chicago-area design-build remodeling firm, seeks a Director of Procurement to lead sourcing for high-end residential additions, remodels, and new construction. You will build and execute a procurement strategy covering materials, finishes, and subcontracted services, ensuring the best balance of cost, quality, and schedule. Partner closely with design, architecture, and project management teams to align specifications, forecast demand, and prevent delays. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, monitor market trends, and drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes while supporting Airoom's craftsmanship, integrity, and client-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategy for residential construction projects
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best value
• Manage vendor performance, contracts, and long-term partnerships
• Oversee material forecasting, purchasing, and inventory for multiple jobs
• Collaborate with design, architecture, and project management teams on specifications and scheduling
• Implement and optimize procurement systems, processes, and controls
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply risks to inform decisions
• Track KPIs and prepare reports on cost, quality, and delivery performance
• Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
