ElectriCom, a longstanding leader in utility construction since 1960, is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting our core operations in power supply, right-of-way clearing, and telecommunication solutions. As an Equipment Operator, you will ensure the safe and efficient handling of various heavy equipments such as bulldozers, backhoes, and excavators that are essential to our day-to-day operations. You will play a key role in strenghthening the infrastructure that powers communities and enables effective communication networks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy construction equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life, following all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks of equipment.
  • Consult with ground operations team to determine the equipment needs for each project phase.
  • Assist in the planning of job tasks in conjunction with project managers and site supervisors.
  • Control and guide machine actions using pedals, levers, and dials based on direct observations and implements or scale indicators.
  • Coordinate with other equipment operators and ground personnel for efficient project execution, ensuring adherence to safety practices.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and logs using GPS-enabled technology and traditional documentation methods.
  • Participate in routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in operating various types of construction equipment including dozers, excavators, and loaders.
  • Strong understanding of construction operations and safety standards.
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Good communication skills for coordination with other crew members.
