Match Education seeks a mission-driven Chief Financial Officer to lead all finance functions for its Boston-based charter schools and teacher residency. The CFO will own strategic financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, audit, and compliance for a complex, grant-funded organization. Partnering with the CEO and Board, the CFO will align resources with our equity-focused mission, support data-informed decisions, and manage risk. The role includes leading a small, collaborative finance team and working closely with school, operations, and development leaders to sustain and scale high-impact programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead long-term financial strategy aligned with Match Education's mission and growth goals
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting for schools and residency program
- Ensure compliance with charter school, nonprofit, and grant/contract regulations
- Manage audits, risk, internal controls, and financial policies
- Partner with CEO and Board on strategic planning and resource allocation
- Supervise and develop finance team; build strong cross-functional partnerships
- Steward relationships with funders; support development and grants finance
- Use data to inform decisions that advance educational equity and student outcomes
