KIPP Charlotte Inc seeks an EC Lead Teacher to provide high-quality special education services for exceptional children in a rigorous, student-centered charter school. The EC Lead Teacher plans and delivers standards-based instruction, develops and manages IEPs, and ensures legal and instructional compliance. In this equity-driven, collaborative environment, the teacher uses data to monitor progress, partners closely with families, supports inclusive practices with general education staff, and contributes to an anti-racist, growth-minded school culture focused on college and career readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction for exceptional children in inclusive and pull-out settings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and staff.
  • Use data to track student progress and adjust instruction and interventions.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support accommodations and modifications.
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA, IEP timelines, and documentation requirements.
  • Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with families about student goals and progress.
  • Participate in coaching, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Support a student-centered, equitable, and anti-racist school culture.
  • Coordinate with related service providers and school leadership on student supports.
