KIPP Charlotte Inc seeks an EC Lead Teacher to provide high-quality special education services for exceptional children in a rigorous, student-centered charter school. The EC Lead Teacher plans and delivers standards-based instruction, develops and manages IEPs, and ensures legal and instructional compliance. In this equity-driven, collaborative environment, the teacher uses data to monitor progress, partners closely with families, supports inclusive practices with general education staff, and contributes to an anti-racist, growth-minded school culture focused on college and career readiness.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction for exceptional children in inclusive and pull-out settings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and staff.
- Use data to track student progress and adjust instruction and interventions.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support accommodations and modifications.
- Maintain compliance with IDEA, IEP timelines, and documentation requirements.
- Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management strategies.
- Communicate regularly with families about student goals and progress.
- Participate in coaching, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
- Support a student-centered, equitable, and anti-racist school culture.
- Coordinate with related service providers and school leadership on student supports.
