KIPP ENC Public Schools, part of KIPP North Carolina, seeks an Exceptional Children Self Contained Teacher to provide high-quality instruction for students with disabilities in a self-contained setting. You will design standards-aligned, IEP-driven lessons; implement individualized behavior supports; and use data to monitor progress and adjust instruction. In this mission-driven, equity-focused K-12 charter network, you'll collaborate with families and support staff, receive ongoing coaching and professional development, and help create an inclusive, rigorous learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily instruction in a self-contained classroom for Exceptional Children aligned to IEP goals and state standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, ensuring legal compliance and timely progress reporting.
  • Use data to plan, differentiate, and adjust instruction to meet diverse academic and behavioral needs.
  • Implement positive behavior supports, de-escalation strategies, and individualized behavior plans.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to coordinate services.
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress, goals, and strategies for support at home.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and other compliance-related processes.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and student data in required systems.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, coaching, and feedback cycles.
  • Contribute to a mission-driven, equity-focused school culture that supports all learners.
