Program Director, Cancer Vaccines

The Foundation for the NIH (FNIH) seeks a Program Manager or Director, Cancer Vaccines, to lead complex, multi-partner initiatives that accelerate development of cancer vaccines. Reporting into our scientific programs team, you will design and manage cross-sector collaborations with NIH, academia, industry, and nonprofits to advance translational research, biomarkers, and clinical readiness. Responsibilities include program strategy, stakeholder coordination, budgets, grant and contract oversight, risk management, and impact reporting. This hybrid role in Bethesda, MD, is ideal for a scientifically fluent program leader passionate about improving global health.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of cancer vaccine programs and partnerships.
• Coordinate cross-sector stakeholders including NIH, industry, academia, and nonprofits.
• Develop program roadmaps, milestones, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
• Oversee grants, contracts, and reporting to funders and governance bodies.
• Synthesize scientific and programmatic updates for leadership and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Track metrics and outcomes to assess program impact and inform strategy.
• Support fundraising, proposal development, and stakeholder engagement.
• Supervise or mentor project staff and manage external vendors as needed.
• Represent FNIH in meetings, workshops, and scientific or policy forums.
