Medical Billing Specialist

Klamath Basin Behavioral Health seeks a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to support accurate, timely reimbursement for our behavioral health and addiction services. In this role, you will verify insurance, submit and track claims, post payments, resolve denials, and reconcile accounts using EHR and billing systems. You'll collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure compliant documentation and adherence to payer rules. Responsibilities

• Verify client insurance eligibility and benefits for behavioral health services
• Prepare, submit, and track electronic and paper claims to Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payers
• Post payments, adjustments, and refunds; reconcile accounts receivable and resolve discrepancies
• Research and resolve claim denials and rejections; perform timely follow-up with payers
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure complete, compliant documentation
• Maintain accurate billing records and generate basic reports on billing and collections trends
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer rules, and organizational billing policies
• Respond professionally to client and payer billing inquiries and provide clear communication
