Structural Welder

Ben's Structural Fabrication Inc., part of Built by Bens, seeks a skilled Structural Welder for our construction projects. You will weld and fabricate structural steel components for residential and commercial builds, read blueprints, perform fit up, and ensure work meets code and safety standards. Collaborating with our Skilled Labor team, you'll help deliver high-quality, sustainable structures. The ideal candidate has strong MIG/flux-core skills, shop and field experience, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural welding (primarily MIG/flux-core) on steel beams, columns, and connections
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
• Fit, position, and clamp components prior to welding
• Inspect welds for quality, code compliance, and structural integrity
• Operate cutting, grinding, and material-handling tools safely
• Follow OSHA and company safety policies at all times
• Collaborate with project managers and skilled labor team to meet schedules
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working order
• Assist with installation/erection of structural steel on site
• Document work performed and report issues or defects promptly
