Childcare Director

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids seeks a Childcare Director who will embody our mission to strengthen community foundations through a commitment to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This role will oversee the operation of our child development programs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Childcare Director, you will lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional educational and caregiving services to children, driving initiatives that support the physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of our young participants.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive childcare programs in line with YMCA standards and state regulations.
• Manage, recruit, and train childcare staff, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes professional growth and exceptional childcare practices.
• Ensure a safe, nurturing environment for all children and staff involved in programs.
• Maintain diligent records of child attendance, health and safety protocols, program activities, and staff certifications.
• Engage with parents and community members regularly to ensure open communication and community involvement.
• Monitor and manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and financial stability.
