Certified Peer Specialist

Comhar Inc. seeks a Certified Peer Specialist to provide part-time, recovery-focused support to adults in our behavioral health programs. Drawing on your own lived experience, you will offer hope, encouragement, and practical guidance, help participants build coping skills and self-advocacy, and connect them with community resources. In this mission-driven, collaborative setting, you will document services, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and participate in ongoing training while promoting empowerment, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group peer support to individuals receiving behavioral health services
• Use lived experience to model recovery, hope, self-advocacy, and empowerment
• Assist participants in developing and following person-centered recovery and wellness plans
• Connect individuals to community resources, supports, and social opportunities
• Document services accurately and timely in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Support engagement in treatment, groups, and community-based activities
• Maintain ethical boundaries, confidentiality, and trauma-informed, culturally humble practices
• Participate in trainings, supervision, and team meetings for ongoing development
• Assist with outreach and engagement of individuals who may be reluctant to access services
