Field Mechanic

The Briar Team, a leading Cleveland construction firm, seeks a Field Mechanic to service and repair heavy equipment used on commercial and residential projects. In this on-site role, you'll diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues, perform preventative maintenance, and complete safety inspections to keep machinery operating reliably. Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment in the field and shop
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety inspections on machinery
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime
• Document all repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities accurately
• Operate service trucks, tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with project managers and operators to schedule and prioritize repairs
• Ensure compliance with company, OSHA, and manufacturer safety standards
• Assist with equipment setup, testing, and commissioning on new projects
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and properly store tools and parts
• Provide occasional on-call or after-hours support for urgent equipment issues
