State Farm seeks a Legislative/Regulatory Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance on laws affecting our insurance and financial services businesses. You will monitor and analyze federal and state legislative and regulatory developments, advise leaders on impacts, and help shape advocacy strategies. Responsibilities include drafting position papers and comments, counseling on compliance risks, collaborating with government affairs and business teams, and representing State Farm with regulators and policymakers in a collaborative, integrity-driven culture.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze federal and state legislation and regulations impacting insurance and financial services
  • Provide legal counsel to internal stakeholders on legislative and regulatory issues
  • Draft position papers, comment letters, and testimony for regulators and legislators
  • Advise on compliance implications of new and evolving laws
  • Collaborate with government affairs, compliance, and business teams on advocacy strategies
  • Represent State Farm in meetings with policymakers, regulators, and industry groups
  • Support development of internal policies and procedures in response to legal changes
  • Conduct legal research and prepare concise summaries and recommendations
