Diesel Mechanic

Bailey Nurseries, Inc., a fifth-generation leader in horticulture, seeks a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel-powered agricultural equipment used in large-scale nursery production. In this on-site role, you'll troubleshoot engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems on tractors, loaders, sprayers, and support vehicles to keep operations running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, inspections, and accurate repair documentation. You'll collaborate with growing and logistics teams in a safety-focused, family-oriented culture that values reliability, quality work, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines on tractors, loaders, sprayers, and nursery support equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on agricultural machinery and vehicles
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Document all repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities accurately
• Coordinate with growing and logistics teams to prioritize equipment repairs and minimize downtime
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and work area following company and OSHA standards
• Assist with seasonal equipment setup, calibration, and winterization
• Support continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and reliability of critical nursery equipment
