Youth & Family Instructor

The YMCA is seeking Youth & Family Instructors to lead safe, engaging programs that support youth development and family connection. In this role, you will plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in areas such as recreation, enrichment, and healthy living, while modeling the Y's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. You will build positive relationships, ensure participant safety, communicate with parents and guardians, and support inclusion for all backgrounds and abilities. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about mentoring youth, fostering strong families, and serving their community.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age-appropriate youth and family activities
• Ensure a safe, supervised, and inclusive environment for all participants
• Build positive relationships with youth, families, and colleagues
• Communicate program information and feedback to parents and guardians
• Model and reinforce YMCA core values and behavior expectations
• Maintain accurate attendance and incident records
• Support behavior guidance and conflict resolution constructively
• Set up, clean, and maintain program spaces and equipment
• Follow YMCA policies, safety standards, and emergency procedures
• Collaborate with staff to support special events and community programs
