Drum Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a Drum Teacher to provide high quality private and small group drum lessons in our retail store. In this role, you'll teach fundamental to intermediate drum technique, reading, rhythm, and ensemble skills to students of all ages, creating personalized lesson plans and progress goals. You'll maintain an encouraging, student focused environment, communicate regularly with parents, and support recitals and performance opportunities. The Drum Teacher also partners with store staff to recommend instruments, accessories, and learning materials that support each student's musical growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and small group drum lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Develop customized lesson plans and learning goals aligned with Music & Arts standards
• Teach drum technique, rhythm, music reading, and ensemble skills
• Track student progress and adjust instruction based on individual needs
• Communicate regularly with parents and students about goals and performance
• Prepare students for recitals, performances, and assessments
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, student focused learning environment
• Collaborate with store staff to recommend instruments, accessories, and learning materials
• Ensure punctuality, accurate scheduling, and lesson documentation
• Support store events and community focused music education activities
