Associate Professor
Carle Health seeks an Associate Professor in Healthcare & Medical Services for our Research & Development (R&D) department. This faculty role leads clinical and health services research that advances patient outcomes and safety in a community-based, integrated health system. The Associate Professor will design and secure funding for studies, oversee multidisciplinary projects, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and present at conferences. Responsibilities include mentoring trainees and junior faculty, collaborating with clinical teams, and integrating research findings into care models. Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct clinical and health services research aligned with Carle Health priorities
- Design, obtain funding for, and manage R&D studies to improve patient outcomes and safety
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences
- Collaborate with clinicians, scientists, and operational leaders on translational projects
- Mentor junior faculty, residents, and fellows in research methods and scholarship
- Contribute to curriculum development and deliver research-focused education
- Ensure compliance with IRB, regulatory, and ethical standards in all studies
- Analyze complex clinical datasets to inform evidence-based care models
- Support integration of research findings into clinical practice and quality initiatives
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees advancing research strategy
