Local CDL A Driver
BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a Local CDL A Driver to support our Elkton, MD distribution operations. In this member-focused, team-oriented role, you will safely operate a CDL A tractor-trailer on local routes, handling no-touch freight between distribution centers and clubs. Responsibilities include conducting thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, following all DOT and company safety regulations, and maintaining accurate ELD and delivery records. You'll work closely with dispatch and club teams to ensure on-time, efficient deliveries while upholding our standards of integrity, respect, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Safely operate CDL A tractor-trailer on local routes to and from BJ's Wholesale Club locations and facilities.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings per DOT and company standards.
- Ensure all no-touch freight is properly secured and sealed; verify load documentation and accuracy.
- Comply with all DOT, state, and company safety regulations, including hours-of-service and ELD use.
- Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and required paperwork for each route.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, warehouse staff, and club teams regarding schedules and issues.
- Report equipment defects, incidents, and delays promptly to appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to assigned delivery schedules while practicing safe driving and defensive driving techniques.
