Novant Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive and focused nursing assessments, including physical, psychosocial, and functional status evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately, monitoring and documenting patient responses.
- Document all care, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Monitor vital signs, diagnostic results, and clinical status, promptly recognizing and reporting changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, therapists, and case managers to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Provide clear, compassionate education to patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, self-care, and discharge instructions.
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, supporting a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives within the unit and organization.
- Support a positive, inclusive work culture by demonstrating respect, professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication with colleagues.
- Assist with orientation, precepting, and mentoring of new nurses, students, and support staff as appropriate.
- Advocate for patient rights, preferences, and needs while upholding ethical and professional standards of nursing practice.
