Binder Operator

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a Binder Operator to support high-impact advocacy and communications campaigns. In this on-site role, you'll set up, operate, and maintain bindery and finishing equipment to produce polished print materials for public affairs and issue-advocacy clients. You'll interpret job tickets, manage tight deadlines, conduct quality checks, and ensure consistency across complex projects. Working in a collaborative, high-performance culture, you'll partner closely with senior staff, support fast-paced campaigns, and uphold rigorous production and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor binder and related finishing equipment for print and advocacy materials.
• Review job tickets and specifications to ensure accurate, on-time production.
• Perform routine adjustments, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to maintain optimal machine performance.
• Conduct quality checks on finished pieces, verifying alignment, trim, binding strength, and overall finish.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized production area.
• Collaborate with account and production teams to prioritize jobs and meet tight campaign deadlines.
• Accurately track runs, waste, and machine issues for workflow and reporting.
• Assist with other print finishing tasks (cutting, folding, collating, packaging) as needed.
