Saddle Stitch Operator

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a skilled Saddle Stitch Operator to support high-quality production of printed materials for public affairs and advocacy clients. In this on-site role, you will set up, operate, and maintain saddle stitch equipment, interpret detailed job tickets, and ensure precise finishing to meet demanding client and campaign timelines. You'll work in a collaborative, high-performance environment, coordinating closely with a small production and account team to deliver accurate, on-time work. The ideal candidate brings strong technical bindery skills, attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and experience in a professional print or finishing setting.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor saddle stitch equipment for client print jobs
• Read and follow job tickets to ensure accurate specifications and deadlines
• Perform in-process quality checks on registration, trim, and finishing
• Adjust machine settings to optimize throughput and minimize waste
• Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and basic troubleshooting
• Collaborate with production team to prioritize and sequence jobs
• Ensure proper handling, counting, and packaging of finished materials
• Follow all shop safety, maintenance, and housekeeping procedures
