Stitcher Operator

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a Stitcher Operator to support high-quality production of print and advocacy materials for public affairs campaigns. Based in Washington, DC, you will set up, operate, and maintain stitcher and related bindery equipment, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and on-time delivery. You will read job tickets, verify specifications, monitor quality, and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues. Working in a small, collaborative team, you'll coordinate with account and production staff to meet tight deadlines while maintaining safety, organization, and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor stitcher equipment for print and campaign materials
• Review job tickets and specifications to ensure accurate finishing and packaging
• Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and minor repairs on stitcher machines
• Inspect output for quality, accuracy, and adherence to client standards
• Coordinate with production and account teams to meet deadlines and priorities
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Track production counts, downtime, and materials used
• Assist with other bindery and finishing tasks as needed
