Stitcher Machine Operator

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a Stitcher Machine Operator to support production of high-quality printed and advocacy materials. In this on-site role, you will set up, operate, and maintain stitcher machinery, ensuring accurate stitching, trimming, and finishing to meet client specifications and deadlines. You will read and interpret job tickets, perform routine adjustments and basic troubleshooting, and conduct quality checks on finished pieces. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you'll coordinate with a small production team, follow strict safety procedures, and help maintain an efficient, organized shop that supports high-impact communications and public affairs campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor stitcher machines for print and bound materials.
• Read job tickets and specifications to ensure accurate stitching, trimming, and finishing.
• Perform routine machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Inspect finished products for alignment, completeness, and overall quality.
• Handle paper stocks and materials, loading, unloading, and staging as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with production team to meet deadlines and daily output targets.
• Document production counts, issues, and maintenance needs accurately.
