Binding Machine Operator

TSG - The Sheridan Group seeks a Binding Machine Operator to support high-impact communications and advocacy projects. In this on-site role, you will set up, operate, and maintain binding machines to produce books, briefing binders, and other printed materials for policy and public affairs campaigns. You will read job tickets, adjust machinery for various paper stocks and formats, and inspect output for accuracy and quality. Working closely with a small, hands-on team, you'll help meet tight deadlines, uphold safety standards, and ensure flawless production that supports client-facing strategic communications work.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor binding machines for books and printed materials
• Review job tickets and specifications to ensure correct materials and settings
• Inspect output for quality, accuracy, and consistency, making adjustments as needed
• Perform routine cleaning, adjustments, and preventive maintenance on equipment
• Troubleshoot machine issues and coordinate repairs when necessary
• Handle paper stock, covers, and bindery materials safely and efficiently
• Meet production schedules while maintaining high quality standards
• Accurately complete production logs and report job status to supervisors
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Collaborate with production and account teams to prioritize and sequence jobs
