Pay & Benefits

• Pay: $30.25/hour; overtime at $45.37/hour
• Benefits: Pay package discussed upon application; mileage reimbursement for travel to investigations and court hearings

What You ll Do

• Conduct investigations of child maltreatment reports, including abuse, neglect, and exploitation
• Perform initial and ongoing safety assessments of children and families
• Develop, monitor, and revise safety and risk management plans
• Document all case activities accurately and thoroughly
• Prepare court reports and participate in legal proceedings as needed
• Collaborate with law enforcement, legal, and community stakeholders
• Support safe reunification or alternative safety plans for children

What You Need
Required:

• Bachelor s Degree in Social Work or a related field
• Knowledge of child welfare investigation procedures
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
• Reliable transportation and a clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and assessments

Preferred:

• Prior experience working within Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) investigations
• Familiarity with safety and risk assessment protocols
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

This role involves providing initial assessment and investigation services for child maltreatment cases, supporting families through safety and risk evaluations, and collaborating with community partners.
