CDL-A Truck Drivers

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor-trailer or truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
• Plan routes using GPS technology to ensure the most efficient trip.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Report defects, accidents, or violations.
• Maintain a clean and safe vehicle.

Required Skills

• Strong driving record with no traffic violations.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Proficiency in using GPS and other routing systems.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
