Ryder System is seeking a Diesel Lead Technician to oversee advanced maintenance and repair of our transportation fleet. In this on-site role, you'll lead and mentor technicians, perform complex diagnostics, and ensure preventive maintenance is executed to the highest safety and quality standards. You'll manage shop workflow, prioritize repairs to maximize fleet uptime, and communicate status to operations and customers. Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor diesel technicians on diagnostics and repair best practices
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair on diesel engines, drivetrains, and related systems
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion of work orders
- Inspect, diagnose, and document vehicle and equipment conditions in compliance with Ryder standards
- Coordinate shop workflow, prioritize repairs, and support optimal fleet uptime
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Communicate repair status and technical findings to operations and customers
- Support training, onboarding, and skills development for maintenance staff
- Use diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve complex issues
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and parts usage in fleet systems
