RN Pre/Post Special Procedures/Surgery

UCHealth is seeking an experienced RN for our Pre/Post Special Procedures/Surgery team. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedure care for patients undergoing surgeries and advanced interventions. Responsibilities include assessments, IV and medication administration, monitoring during recovery, patient and family education, and coordination with physicians and anesthesia. Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-procedure nursing care for special procedures and surgeries
• Perform patient assessments, develop and update care plans, and monitor vital signs
• Administer medications, sedation, and IV therapies per provider orders and protocols
• Prepare patients, rooms, and equipment for procedures and support providers during cases
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
• Coordinate care and communicate with physicians, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic documentation and adhere to safety and infection control standards
• Respond to changes in patient condition and participate in emergencies and rapid responses
• Support quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and unit-based initiatives
• Precept and mentor new staff and contribute to a collaborative, patient-first culture
