REGISTERED NURSE
UCHealth seeks a Registered Nurse for our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The RN delivers high-acuity, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adults, performing thorough assessments, titrating medications, managing ventilators and invasive lines, and responding to rapid changes in condition. This role collaborates closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans that support optimal patient outcomes. RNs at UCHealth also precept and educate patients, families, and peers, uphold safety and infection-prevention standards, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives in an innovative, diverse, and inclusive environment with strong opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill MICU patients
- Conduct and document ongoing patient assessments and care plans
- Administer and titrate IV medications, including high-alert drugs
- Monitor and manage ventilators and other advanced life-support equipment
- Manage central lines, arterial lines, and other invasive devices
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and quality standards
- Participate in MICU-based quality improvement and evidence-based practice projects
- Precept and mentor new nurses and support staff as needed
